Arts and culture play a major part of life in Maidenhead with a vibrant community of clubs and societies in and around the town.

A focal hub for the community is Norden Farm Centre for the Arts who have just celebrated their 10th anniversary. Norden Farm offers a packed programme throughout the year and is only a10 minute drive away from the town centre.

Just outside Maidenhead, in the picturesque Thameside village of Cookham, the Stanley Spencer Gallery is a very special place for all generations of the family to enjoy.  Devoted to the work of one of Britain's greatest twentieth century painters, Sir Stanley Spencer, it was named by ArtFund in 2014  as being one the UK's five most 'unmissable' small Art Galleries.  It was also awarded a Michelin star in the Michelin Great Britain Green Guide.  The Gallery provides the world's largest collection of the works of Stanley Spencer  and is a wonderful place to explore the extraordinary genius of this mystical painter.  For details of the current exhibition (there are two per year) visit the Gallery's website.

Art literally comes to the street in Maidenhead when the community run art market, Art on the Street, comes to the High Street. With over a hundred artists selling and exhibiting their work the street is buzzing with colour and life. For details on the next market visit their website.
